Overview

An integrated approach to the physical dimension of the game

Physical preparation in soccer cannot be understood as something separate from the game. Players do not run, accelerate, recover or adapt outside a context: everything happens within a collective, tactical, emotional and competitive logic.

Based on the modules on movement-body in the game and energy for understanding performance, the course shows that physical preparation means understanding the body that plays, decides, feels, interacts and adapts according to the specificity of a team.

Rather than training isolated physical capacities, the course helps coaches and fitness coaches read movement, fatigue, recovery and adaptation as phenomena that emerge from training and competition.

Physical preparation is not taken away from the game; it is understood from the game itself.

Program Content

Course organized into 2 modules: movement-body in the game and energy metabolism to understand the physical dimension in soccer.

1.1. The paradigm of complexity with a different way of looking at the same objects: GAME, PLAYER, TEAM, BODY…

1.2. How Tactical Periodization respects the individuality of each player.

1.3. “Injury prevention” in light of Tactical Periodization. Risk mitigation as a side effect of the training process.

1.4. Understanding how complements, activations, pre-activations and top-ups should be integral parts of each TRAINING SESSION.

This module focuses on the understanding of player movement in soccer as an expression of Playing and not as an isolated manifestation of the body. The body that plays decides, feels, interacts and adjusts according to a shared tactical Intention, always situated in the collective context.

Thus, preparation ceases to be “physical” in the separated sense of the term, and becomes integrated into the specificity of a Playing, that is, of its own team.

Training will be oriented toward creating propensional conditions that allow the intended playing to emerge, promoting collective and individual adaptation.

     1.4.2. Structure and sub-structures

     1.4.3. Game System

1.4.4. Game Model as an intention in action

1.5. Practical Case Study

2.1. The perspective of Integrative Physiology on ADAPTABILITY and PERFORMANCE.

2.2. The illusion of metabolic fragmentation and the respective aerobic and anaerobic training.

This module focuses on the understanding of energy metabolism, considering individual performances, recovery and the corresponding adaptation as phenomena inseparable from collective playing. In soccer, individualized bioenergetic adaptations must be interpreted in light of a pattern of Interactions and collective organization.

Participants will learn to read players’ responses to training and competition through Integrative Physiology, where performance, fatigue and recovery are part of the same bioenergetic algorithm.

The “adaptation-adaptability” will be addressed as a process specific to each team, built through the systematic repetition of game patterns, and not through the individual accumulation of physical loads.
